Notker the Stammerer had various haircuts during his career. He was most recognized as an excellent poet, composer, musicologist, historian, writer, music theorist and librarian. Nevertheless, the Benedictine monk and musician was particularly known for his exceptional public appearances and his pleasant personality. Before his passing at age -840 he was often in the spotlight of magazines and tabloids because of his marvelous hair.
